Job summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer for one of our clients in Annapolis, Maryland. This is a Hybrid Full-Time position.

Essential Functions

Data Modeling and Analytics:

  • Data Modeling: Design and develop analytic cubes, tabular models, and multidimensional models using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
  • Data Pipelines: Build and manage ETL processes to integrate data from on-premises and cloud-based sources.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve Data Warehouse and reporting system issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Cloud and Data Services:

  • Azure Expertise: Utilize Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Data Visualization: Develop visual reports and dashboards with filters, variables, and drill-down capabilities using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Job Scheduling: Schedule and manage ongoing jobs using tools like Apache Airflow.

Optimization and Compliance:

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize data processing workflows, data models, and queries for performance and scalability.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement role-based access control, data encryption, and ensure compliance with industry standards like HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • High Availability: Design solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & CAPABILITIES:

Meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Substitution: 4 years of additional experience can substitute for a degree. A Master’s degree can substitute for 1 year of experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing analytic cubes, reporting, data modeling, and data pipelines.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and writing complex SQL queries.
    • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Data Warehouse Modeling: Experience with data warehouse modeling and development.
  • Agile Development: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools like JIRA.
  • Machine Learning: Exposure to machine learning techniques and algorithms.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as Microsoft Solutions Developer, Oracle, or Google Cloud are a plus.

Desired Software and Services Experience:

  • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Data Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, SSRS.
  • Cloud Services: Microsoft Azure Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • ETL and Automation: Python, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory.
  • Project Management: JIRA, Confluence.
  • Data Modeling: ERWIN.
